May 2018 Review
May has been another big month at CFN. We had our 3RM deadlift, we tested our mental ability with our pub quiz and we tested strength and teamwork at the inaugural CFN Lift Off event.
Our training cycle has recently prioritised slow, more powerlifting based lifts in the back squat and the deadlift but towards the end of May, we have moved towards the faster Olympic style lifts of the clean and jerk and the snatch. Hopefully, that extra raw strength will pay dividends in the coming months. Conditioning initially focused on some interval format pieces that looked for 'max effort' reps at the end of the set. Towards the end of the month, we have been working on task priority workouts that give a time score on completion.
June 2018 Focus
Moving into June we are continuing with the back squat cycle which we will test around the middle of the month. Olympic lifting will become our Major cycle and a push and pull cycle will become the Minor priority.
We are going to test the 3rm push press as the "push" section of the cycle, strict and kipping pull-ups as the "pull" part of the cycle. There will be a unique test for the pull-ups.
